Baby Watch: Week 19

My belly really grew for week 19!  It was a big difference between 18.  Actually, it looks like my ass grew in the picture, but everything still fits there so it’s either a weird angle, or just an overall mid-section thickening.  Let’s face it, I’m not going to be someone who is “all belly” during pregnancy.  According to the charts, this was supposed to be a large jump in size for the baby, so it makes sense that it is so noticeable.  Behold…

(This is a look back on week 19.  I’m currently 21 weeks, but want to get these all posted in order.)

Week 19: May 21 – May 27

Baby size: Mango

Maternity Clothes: I’m really stretching the limit with my non-maternity pants, especially jeans.  It was really cold over the weekend and I didn’t have any normal jeans that fit well and couldn’t find any maternity ones to buy that fit either.  I did the rubber band/belly band trick one night, but after several hours, that wasn’t comfortable anymore either.  I only need to buy one pair for now, since it’s normally going to be hot, but didn’t have time to go to other stores and the ones I went to didn’t really have any.  It was frustrating.  Old Navy had a whole section, but the majority were maternity size 2 skinny jeans – how many women are looking for size 2 skinny jeans when they’re pregnant?!!  I made it through and hopefully the weather will be warm enough for capris most evenings from now on.  Also, my shirts are rapidly become smaller I think – possibly in the laundry?  Surely that’s the problem.  The difference between this week’s picture and last week’s shows for sure!

Sleep: I sleep well – mostly only waking up once during the night to pee in the 1 a.m. hour.  I wake up easier in the morning too.

Symptoms:  I’ve had some heartburn this week.  Hopefully it just stuff I ate and not the start of a new symptom.

Workouts:  I had some great workouts this week.  I got in 2 yoga workouts, a long walk, and a killer leg routine.  It’s a leg workout that I used to do before and I was sore for 3 days, which I love.  There was also a lot of laziness with the long Memorial weekend.

Good moments of the week:

  • Good Dr. appt – it was basically listening to the heartbeat and then outta there.
  • Fun with lots of different friends over Memorial Weekend

Movement:  I feel a lot of movement every day now.  It still isn’t predictable in any way, but it’s more noticeable now.  It’s way more than just bubbles.

Food cravings:  Nothing very specific.  I made a batch of gluten-free chocolate chip peanut butter cookies that I was loving on.

What I miss: Having jeans that fit (until I find some maternity ones), doing harder yoga

What I’m looking forward to:  A short work week, Lo’s birthday

Milestones: Consistent movement, major belly growth
