Easter fun 2015

Easter fun 2015

Easter weekend fell during the calm before the big storm of moving.  We closed on our new house on Thursday, but didn’t take possession of the house until Monday evening.  Lo’s mom was off for Good Friday and she wanted to keep Jenson overnight, so she stayed at our place on Thursday night and took him with her on Friday.

Lo and I seriously had no idea what to do on Friday after work.  We finally just made plans to meet friends for dinner at The Crafty Pint.  When we got home, we caught up on some episodes of The Following (I love that show!).

I had some errands on Saturday, Jenson got home, and then I had a friend’s baby shower/girls night to go to.  I had so much fun catching up with all of them – we go way too long without seeing each other sometimes.

We went to Lo’s grandma’s for Easter this year.  Sometimes we elect to stay home for Easter – it can be wearing to be away from home for every single holiday.  But we hadn’t seen everyone for sometime, including the twins, and Lo’s grandma’s sister just passed so we wanted to spend some time with her too.  Plus, Jenson can’t get enough of Sadie, Nana, and Papaw, even if he did just see them.  So we spent the afternoon there for Easter…eating, Easter egg hunt, playing in the park, trying to get the twins to sleep (no go).

Jenson had fun gathering Easter eggs, but more fun looking at the ceramic bunnies in the yard.  He even got a little cake and ice cream for Lo’s mom’s birthday, but sadly I think it really bothered his stomach.  He woke up on the way home screaming and I could barely keep him calmed.  He stayed upset when we got home and was farting and burping and not very interested in eating dinner.  It was obvious that his belly was hurting him, so we gave him some gas drops.  Lo took him up to take a bath, hoping that would feel good on his tummy (and rinse off since he’d been around cats and seems to have a bit of an allergy).  He was having a good time in the bathtub…stomach seemed to be feeling better.  And then he pooped.  We were actually expecting it, because it was the normal time of night that he goes, and he’d poo’d last week in the tub too.  He definitely felt better after that luckily.  It’s so hard when he’s hurting and we can’t help.  I guess that’s probably the story of being a parent.

I was a good Easter – fun was had by all.  We facetimed my family before Jenson went to bed and got to see everyone at my parent’s house.
