Fitness Friday: Nov. 23 – 30

I stuck with Fitness Friday instead of Workout Wednesday, but I had to push it to Saturday since Friday was Foodie Pen Pal Reveal Day.  Sooo…

My knee wasn’t feeling better this week – not sure if it was the 6 hours spend in the car over the weekend or what.  But whatever.  It was a light week again because I was so busy.  On Thursday, two friends and I hosted a Hurricane Sandy Fundraiser at a local bar and some of my time this week was spent doing last minute things for that, so I missed some extra workouts.

Friday, November 23

  • Nothing: We spent the day hanging out at my parents house. I took Coco for a walk around the field because I didn’t want her to think that I was done with her now that I have my own dog.  She didn’t love Boof being there, but she tolerated her.  She’s still doing well enough.  Last spring she had some inner ear issue that was causing her to be dizzy and just not feeling well – so much so that before my mom found out what the issue was, they thought they were going to have to take her to have her put down over Father’s Day weekend because she wasn’t drinking or eating and would fall over when she tried to walk.  As devastating as it would have been, they didn’t want her to suffer so they were prepared to do what they needed. Luckily it was something that could be treated, but she gets relapses with it at times, so she’s still not as chipper as she used to be.  But she is almost 13 now, so she’s just slowing down.  But take her for a walk around the farm and she’s like a puppy once she gets in the field.  The funny thing is, she’s a free-to-roam dog, meaning they let her out without a leases, fences, or anything.  She doesn’t wander past the field and we’ve never had to worry about her.  So even though she can walk around the fields anytime she wants, she never does unless someone is with her – and she LOVES it!  As evidenced….

And then she promptly went to “her” room and slept for 4-6 hours.

  • OSU v. Michigan Game Day: We drove home in the morning to try to make it for game time.  We hit the inevitable traffic stoppage on Rt.71 so we didn’t make it back until nearly the second quarter.  Boof is awesome in the car (I just typed “in college”?!) except when we stop and she thinks that means it’s time to get out. She does not like traffic jams.  I let her sit up front with us while we were stopped/moving crazy slow for 50 minutes.  I walked her when we got home but didn’t do any workout.

Sunday, November 25

  • Yep, nothing again:  I walked the Steelers get beat by the Browns, so that was sucky.  Other than Boof walks…nothing.

Monday, November 26

  • Noon – PT Exercises and 20 minutes elliptical
  • 6 – 7:15 p.m. – Level 2 Heated Power Yoga at PAI:  This class was PACKED!  It was crazy.  She set the heat at 98 degrees or something like that and it got up to 107.  It was core-hard, but a great class.  Chan is an excellent teacher who doesn’t take yoga too seriously.

Tuesday, November 27

  • Noon – PT Appointment:  It was pretty much just me doing my exercises while at the PT place, which seems like a waste of time to get to the appointment and money.  Oh well.
  • 7:00 p.m. – Dublin Reverse Co-ed Playoffs:  We lost…shocker.

Wednesday, November 28

  • Noon – PT exercises and 20 min elliptical

Thursday, November 29

  • No lunch: We were leaving work early because we had a fundraiser for Red Cross Hurricane Sandy Recovery Fund.  It was a great time and we raised almost $4000 (not final yet, hopefully we got to 4k).  Our friends were amazingly supportive.

Friday, November 30

Noon – PT exercises:  I just did these in my office so I didn’t do anything extra.  I was feeling lazy after the craziness of the fundraiser the night before.
