Friday Photo Favorites: May 12-18, 2014

Jen at Ramblings of a Suburban Mom hosts a Friday Photo Favorites linkup and its a fun way to post a few (or bunch) pictures from the week. (Ahh! Only 7 minutes late this week!)

This group of photos finishes our trip from Vegas and goes through last weekend.  It was so sad to leave my sister’s family.  We only get to see them about twice a year.  I’ve always been really close to my sister (well, after high school anyway), and now that we have babies so close in age, it would be amazing to live closer.  But…we aren’t moving there…and they aren’t moving here, so we make do with lots of emailing and texting.
It was nice to get home to Boof though.  She was staying with the neighbors, and she loved it there.  We probably missed her more than she missed us.  We did get Jenson’s sleeping schedule a little back on track this week.  Just hoping it sticks.

1. Babes hanging out in the a.m.
2. Having lots of fun playing with Max’s toys
3. Zombie-baby!  He loves biting at my face. He doesn’t just lean in and bite or suck.  He goes “AAHH” and dives at my face.  Over and over.  Luckily, no teeth yet.
4. Sweet baby in the morning (in our bed because he slept like crap while we were there…though also during the months before the trip, so…)

5. – 8. So…there’s a story that goes with this next set.  We got showered and dressed and took the boys to Target to get their pictures taken together.  It went okay enough…it’s hard to get babies that close in age to look at the camera at the same time, lol.  The lady taking the pictures was really disorganized and not very experienced.  We got a couple of cute ones, and that’s all we need.  But anyway…Gary got home from work and it was a cool evening, so we all went for a walk to a park with the strollers and dogs.  Sum and I were ahead of the guys and dogs, so they cut across the park towards us and Summer laughed about how they were dressed the same.  I laughed and then looked at her and looked at me.  We were both wearing jean capris and black shirts, had our hair pulled back, and were pushing the same strollers with babies sucking on the same binkies.  So, yeah.  This wasn’t planned at all, but we decided we should take some pictures anyway.  Even better, we didn’t purposely pose the same for these pics.  I was tempted to go put Jenson’s blue sleeper on him first, but I thought I’d keep it authentic.

Oh and the 4th picture where Lo is looking off into the distance?  (A bird!) Who knows what the heck he was doing.  There really wasn’t anything to look at in that direction, but he has a hard time looking at the camera and keeping his eyes open for pictures lately.

9. – 12.  More family pics, including a selfie that only worked out well for two of us, and a picture in which Max appears to believe he has been kidnapped by strangers.

13. This was Max’s reaction when we told him we were leaving that morning.
14. Getting ready for takeoff.  I have this wooden teething necklace that Jenson likes to chew on, and tying it to his seat was one of my more brilliant parenting moments.
15. He slept for about 2 hours of the flight (thankfully)
16. Back to the necklace upon waking.

17. Takes after his dad and just looks off in the distance sometimes.
18. Really excited to play!
19. Biggest bubble hanging on his chin
20. He’s doing great with eating – including eating a banana out of the skin.  We just cut it in half and hand it to him.  It’s still a little scary to give him pieces of food, but he does so well with them and loves it.

25. Boof’s selfie (or I just held the camera towards her and snapped
26. This face looks like “seriously?”
27. Gluten-free Chocolate-covered Oreo Cake that I made for Kelley’s [late] birthday.  It was SO good and SO easy.  Recipe coming soon.
