The most shocking thing to me is that if you look at the ingredients, they are all things that I have in my kitchen (i.e. real food!). Compare that to a label of Chips Ahoy – (Ingredients: ENRICHED FLOUR (WHEAT FLOUR, NIACIN, REDUCED IRON, THIAMINE MONONITRATE [VITAMIN B1], RIBOFLAVIN [VITAMIN B2], FOLIC ACID), SEMISWEET CHOCOLATE CHIPS (SUGAR, CHOCOLATE, DEXTROSE, COCOA BUTTER, SOY LECITHIN – AN EMULSIFIER, SUGAR, PARTIALLY HYDROGENATED SOYBEAN OIL, HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP, LEAVENING (BAKING SODA, AMMONIUM PHOSPHATE), SALT, WHEY (FROM MILK), NATURAL AND ARTIFICIAL FLAVOR, CARAMEL COLOR)
These cookies from Trader Joe’s are GOOD! My friend Kelley recommended these and she was so right! I don’t love crispy chocolate cookies usually, but these were melt-in-your-mouth good. The bag contains 2 separately wrapped packs of 7 cookies for $3.99 – so while they aren’t cheap, they aren’t terribly priced compared to a lot of gluten-free goodies.
