Hello, Snow

Hello, Snow

The Sunday before Thanksgiving, it started snowing a bit in the late morning, so I suggested we go outside while it was still sticking.  We didn’t think it would last more than a few minutes, but it kept coming and probably continued for about 30 minutes.  They ran around in the backyard for a bit (I went back in and got him gloves) and tried to catch snowflakes on their tongues.

I started digging holes to plant trees. We’d donated to the Arbor Day Foundation and had received 12 tiny trees (think 1 twig each) on Thursday.  We needed to get them in the ground within a week, so I just decided to start on the holes while we were outside.  Because we have so many deer and wildlife around us, we planted them in the random fenced area in the side yard to give them some protection, and we can transplant them in a year or two.  I got nine holes dug, and finished up the rest and planted the trees two days later during nap time.  It was warmer that day, but I realized that planting trees, even just twigs, may also be one of those things to avoid in the third trimester.

Jenson didn’t seem interested in playing IN the snow, but he was thrilled to be pulled around the yard in the sled.

After a bit, it had stopped coming down, but it was getting cold and he was getting sleepy, so we headed in for lunch and nap.

We found out after I posted pictures that no one else we knew got any snow…it was just out our direction, and it melted within an hour or so when the sun came out.
