July Birchbox Review

The July Birchbox theme was the 5 senses.  It was a decent box, but I probably wouldn’t purchase many of the items.  I can use everything in it (except the earbuds – who needs those!).  It was still fun to get the box and check out new stuff, and for $10, I can’t really complain.

Birchbox is a monthly subscription service for upscale beauty products.  For $10, you get a box with 4-5 generous samples including makeup, skincare, fragrance, body, and hair care. Wanna try Birchbox?  I’d love it if you used my referral invite: Click here.

July Birchbox Items: The price in parenthesis is the price for the full-sized product, the samples are pretty generously sized, if not full-size.

  • stila in the moment eyeshadow palette – I haven’t tried the shadows yet, but I’m not super-impressed with this being a “deluxe” sample.  I’ll use the darker colors for liner though, but those beige/browns on the bottom left aren’t very nice. I would have rather had an actual deluxe sample of one color rather than a few swipes of a bunch.  I really like Stila and do have one of the palettes, so I wouldn’t be opposed to buying another. ($39)
  • Jouer Lip Enhancer – This was nice, but nothing spectacular.  I’ll throw it in my makeup bag. ($14)
  • Alterna BAMBOO® UV+ Color Protection Fade-Proof Fluide – I’m not really into glosses, but this smells good and makes my hair shiny. ($24)
  • Ada Cosmetics Bronzer – I thought this would be nice, but I couldn’t really tell that I even put it on. Maybe I had to pile it on better?  ($12.45)
  • Suki Nourishing Regimen – This kit includes Creamy Foaming Cleanser, Concentrated Nourishing Toner, Intensive Nourishing Cream, Pure Facial Moisture, and Intensive Nourishing Masque.  I haven’t used them yet, but I’ll definitely take them with me when travel.  ($50)
  • Lifestyle Extra: Birchbox Exclusive Earbuds – yeah, I have no need for these…they never fit my ears and I can’t believe that everyone already doesn’t have 3 pair of earbuds laying around.
  • Lifestyle Extra: LÄRABAR® über – this was a tasty snack, I’d buy these since they are gluten-free ($9 for 5)

I’m looking forward to my next Birchbox!
