Recently…baby, projects, and lots of troubles

The baby is going crazy in my belly lately – visibly kicking my belly.  I didn’t think the baby was so high in there already, but the kicks were at least 2 inches above my belly button!  I didn’t believe that my uterus is the size of a soccer ball, but I guess so!

Lo has been working his ass off in the yard/around the house and there’s so many more projects we have for him to do.  I feel bad but he won’t let me help him with a lot of the stuff because it requires heavy lifting or other strenuous stuff that isn’t good for me now, or staining, stripping paint, etc.  He’s rearranged several of our flower beds/transplanted plants, which required moving a ton of rocks because the beds are outlined in rocks – and then he edged everything.  He added 20 bags of topsoil to some of the beds and has 20 bags of mulch to put down.  He prepped our deck for staining and is going to stain it (and the bench) as soon as we aren’t going to get rain finally.  He’s going to strip the paint from a desk and repaint for us to use as a changing table/dresser.  There are many other projects too…

Why is everyone so obsessed with going to see NKOTB/B2Men/whoever else is on that tour (Backstreet Boys?)?  All over blogs and Facebook I see grown women freaking out over getting to go to those concerts in every city.  I don’t get it.  I liked NKOTB – had a tape or two, a tee shirt or two, knew all of the words, like Joey.  But that was then…this is now.  I’m grown up and I realize that their music sucks (and probably did then) and that none of them actually are (or were) attractive.  I don’t think it’s weird that people are going to the concerts…I think it’s weird that people are so giddy and teen-ager-like about going to the concerts.

And Big Brother…people are dying (not really) over that show starting again.  I thought that went off the air like 7 years ago!  I didn’t know it was still a big thing…and unless it changed since I saw it in 2004 or whenever, I’m not sure why it’s still on the air when good comedies and dramas get cancelled all the time.

I don’t know why I’m so judge-y of others’ tastes this week (see above two).

I went into Kroger last week with 2 reusable bags.  I used one of the short carts and only spent $25.  Came out with two reusable bags and 4 plastic bags.  What the packer?!  I swear the teenage boy put 2 items in each bag.  One plastic bag had a cucumber and grapes.  Other had a small bag of chips.  I’m pretty sure that bag of chips wasn’t going to squish my cuke or grapes.  But my buns that were in a different bag were squished.  Having worked at  G.E. Dawg (otherwise known as Giant Eagle) in high school and college, I consider myself an amazing grocery bag packer and I can’t stand it when packers don’t have the foresight to figure out which groceries should be packed together, and how.   Kids obviously don’t play Tetris anymore. (not that I condone video games, but that one was useful at least).

Apparently Dr.’s don’t work afternoons on Fridays in the summer and it’s super annoying.  I prefer to schedule appointments on Friday afternoon to get a head start of being lazy for the weekend and neither our dentist or eye doctor are in on Fridays after noon.  You suck, Doctors.

Boof didn’t lose as much weight as we thought, so she has to stay on her starvation mode diet.  It makes me sad (and I suspect it’s why she wakes up before Lo’s alarm now – she’s starving and can’t wait to eat).  We thought she lost 5 lbs as of 2 weeks ago when we weighed her at my mom’s house, but when we weighed her at Chuck and Kelley’s on Sunday, it was only 3.  There’s a fair chance that my mom’s scale is wack.  I’m sure Boof thinks this whole thing is wack, like I do when my doctor’s scale weighs me more than any other scale.

My sister and nephew came to visit up this weekend and somehow my mom thought they were coming down for a baby shower for me that she wasn’t invited to.  She text me asking about the shower and when I said I didn’t know what she was talking about (I hadn’t even showered that day!), she said she thought they were coming down for a shower.  I was like, um…I think you’d be invited! I was a little offended that she thinks that I’m that bad of a daughter!

My glucose tolerance test is on Thursday.  That sucks.
