Sunday Social: Spring has sprung (or will soon)

It’s Sunday Social day where Ashley and Neely post questions each week for people to answer on their blogs and a linkup.  What are your answers?

1. What is your favorite thing about Spring?  It’s no longer winter and won’t be for quite some time.  Except it’s already Spring and it’s supposed to snow a lot tomorrow.  We’ve only had 2 days above 55 this March, which is way colder than normal.  Last year we’d already hit 75-85 several times by this point.  Today was actually really nice in the sun, though it’s barely above 40 degrees.  I walked Boof and then Lo and I worked in the yard for an hour or two, cleaning out beds and trimming stuff.

2. Favorite kind of flowers to grow or receive?  My friend bought us a hibiscus bush for our yard last year and it was my favorite by far.  It had such beautiful and huge blooms for months.  I really, really hope it made it through the winter and comes back with blooms.  My favorite flower to receive would have to be tropical flowers that remind me of Hawaii, but they can be hard to find and are expensive, so I wouldn’t want to get them often since they just die in a week or two.

4. What is your favorite outdoor activity?  That’s hard.  I think just being outside with friends, having drinks.  Bonus if we’re at our friends’ house since they have a great pool.  We used to stay the night there a lot when we lived further away and we’d eat breakfast and hang out on the deck and then get in the pool.  Now we’re close, so we can do this anytime.  I also love being at my mom’s house in the country when everything is all green and blooming.

5. Do you have any fun Spring plans?  We don’t have a lot of specific plans, but I predict a fun spring with a lot of excitement.  The highlight of it will definitely be our trip to Vegas for my sister’s wedding (she lives there) in May.  All of my sisters and my parents will be there, so it’s going to be a great family vacation.  We’ll be missing some brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews, but it’s still rare that the 8 of us are all together (6 daughters + mom and dad) and it’s definitely going to be awesome.  It funny because I’ve been to Vegas so many times that I don’t get excited about actual Vegas – only to see my sister, her fiance, and her friends.

Has spring arrived where you live?
