Workouts: July 16 – 20

This post is a little late.  We had a super busy weekend and I didn’t even turn on the computer. It was a great weekend though, with friends for dinner on Friday night, staying at my in-laws for a retirement party for my father-in-law (30 years on the police force) on Saturday, and Dinner and a Movie on Sunday.  My sister-in-law had a baby today and we went to see her.  Everything went well and she is adorable!  Now I have 5 nieces and 3 nephews!

Monday
Noon
:  No lunch – we had to leave early for eye doctor’s appointments.  Since we both had eye surgery, we get to use our vision insurance deductible for frames towards sunglasses, so we each got Maui Jims for $37 or something crazy like that.

7:45 p.m.
:  I took a Level 1 yoga because it was the only late yoga class offered at PAI that night.  It was PACKED.  So much so that 4-5 of us were standing in front of the class facing sideways and the rest of the class was facing us.  Awkward.  It was super-beginner level, so quite inappropriate for me.  Sometimes its nice to scale it back a bit and focus on basics, but this was barely basics.  Nevertheless, I enjoyed it for what it was – relaxing.

Tuesday
Noon:  Vinyasa Yoga at Capital Club

6:00 p.m. – Spinning at PAI Yoga

Wednesday
Noon:  Legs (finally I wasn’t too lazy to do a weights workout).  I decided to do a 100 workout to punish myself.  Yeah, I succeeded and looked like a grandma when I was trying to sit or stand for 2 days.  It went something like this…

100 Workout:
100 jump ropes for warmup
100 squats with 10 lb. kettlebell
90 reverse lunges
80 single leg deadlifts
70 mountain climbers
60 bridge lifts (this was killer!)
50 calf raises with 10 lb. kettlebell
40 plie squats with 10 lb. kettlebell
30 skater lunges
20 knee to elbows in plank
10 burpees (note: because of my elbow, I don’t do a pushup at the bottom of burpees)

10 minutes of elliptical because I had time leftover.  I was hoping there would be a good magazine so I could find out why Katie left Tom (just kidding, I know why, he’s bat-shit crazy), but the only decent magazine I could find was House Beautiful.

I think I’m going to try to do a 100 workout each week.  I’m going to switch the order so I’m doing different quantities of each time.  The top exercise will move the the bottom and bump the others up.  I’m already dreading the week when I have to do 100 burpees.

7:00: GoYoga Hot Yoga, 80 minutes – I was sure this class was going to kill me because of the hard leg workout that day, but it wasn’t so bad.  We didn’t spend a lot of time in lunges or warriors, so it was easy enough on my legs.  We did some new binds and balances, and I always love exploring.

Thursday:
Noon
:  I skipped.  I was so sore and new yoga was going to be hard enough that night

5:30 p.m.:  Vinyasa Yoga at Capital Club – I wasn’t wrong because this class was SO hard.  There were only 3 of us in class and we are all more advanced, so she really pushed us hard.  I kept thinking that it had to be the last vinyasa, but they never stopped!  We pretty much ran out of time and had to do an abbreviated shivasana.

Friday:  Skipped because I needed to run to Kroger to get stuff for dinner.  We were having a few friends over and I was out too late the night before to stop on my way home from Pups and Drunks.
