September Foodie Penpal Reveal

It’s Foodie Penpal reveal day!  Lindsay from The Lean Green Bean created this program last September to link foodies from around the world.  On the 5th of the month, each participant is assigned a penpal to send a box of goodies to, and is assigned a different penpal from whom he or she will receive a foodie box.

This month I was paired to receive a box from Tracee from Butterflies and Dandelions.  Tracee is a homemaker who blogs about family and recipes and life and she sent me some fantastic treats and even made me a dishtowel!  It’s adorable and matches our red  kitchen!

On to the goodies:

  • Gluten-Free Craklebred –  I haven’t opened these yet, but they look fantastic!  These only have 17 calories per slice
  • Bakery on Main Nutty Cranberry Maple Granola – I love this granola.  I usually just eat it as a snack, but I also put it on top of greek yogurt for breakfast sometimes.
  • Nana’s No Wheat Chocolate Chip Cookie – This cookie was huge and it was tasty!  I received my penpal box right before I was leaving for a bachelorette weekend in Hocking Hills.  I was hungry when I was getting ready to leave, but we were going to eat when I got there, so I grabbed a banana, turkey slices, and this cookie to eat on the (almost) 2 hour drive.  I happened to notice that it was two servings, so I ate one half earlier in the drive, and one half later.  That works, right? 🙂
  • Justin’s Almond and Hazelnut Butters – I love these nut butters, but I hardly ever buy them because they’re a little pricey, so I was excited to get these single serving packets.
  • I’ve never heard of Wickles Pickles, but I love pickles!  Lo HATES pickles but he said his friend always bring those on their yearly camping trips and everyone else likes them.  The best thing about him not liking pickles is that I always get his pickles when he orders a sandwich or burger.
  • Garlic Chili Sauce – We use this regularly – it’s one of my favorite ways to add spice and flavor to foods.  We use this in bibimbap, which we haven’t had in a couple of months, so it’s just about time to make it again!  YUM.

Thank you Tracee!

I was assigned to send a box to Laurie at Nourishing Myself.  Laurie is a Holistic Health Coach who posts fantastic recipes.  I’ve already made her Chocolate and Banana Oat Bars and will be posting about them sometime soon!  Check her out here!

-On the 5th of every month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.
-You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal!
-The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treats! The spending limit is $15. The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!
-You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)
-Foodie Penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you are to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month.
-Foodie Penplas is open to US & Canadian residents.  Please note, Canadian Residents will be paired with other Canadians only. We’ve determined things might get too slow and backed up if we’re trying to send foods through customs across the border from US to Canada and vice versa.

If you’re interested in participating for October, please CLICK HERE to fill out the participation form and read the terms and conditions.

You must submit your information by October 4th as pairings will be emailed on the 5th!

Check out my June Foodie Penpal, July Foodie Penpal, and August Foodie Penpal reveal posts.
