Halloween Sunday Social

It’s Sunday Social day where Ashley and Neely post questions each week for people to answer on their blogs and a linkup.

Sunday Social
 1. What was your favorite halloween costume as a kid?(pictures??)
My mom made a lot of our costumes, but I don’t remember if I had a favorite. I had a pretty sweet Genie costume one year (1st grade?). Jackie is the clown and Summer is the witch.

I was also a pumpkin one year (2nd grade?).  My sister was an apple.  Here’s a pic but my eyes are closed…

2. If you could go back and dress up as something what would it be?
I have no idea…maybe a Popple, lol?

3. Favorite costume as an adult?(pictures)
My go-to costume was always a police officer.  I haven’t worn it for the past few years, but I haven’t dressed up a lot (and I can’t pull off the skirt that I wore with it now!)  When I dispatched at a police department in college they were getting rid of some old uniforms and I convinced the Sgt. to give me one of the shirts and a hat.  He said I had to take the patches off the sleeves, but I never did. I usually wore it with a dark blue skirt and knee high boots that laced up the back.  I remember dressing up to tailgate at an Ohio State game one year when it fell on Halloween and the officers were all about it. I couldn’t find the pic where I was posing with the officers, but here is one of me and my 1st roommate after a night at the bars (we’re looking a little rough).

4. Favorite Halloween Candy?
Chocolate of some sort – I go through phases of what I like best, but I’ve always loved Mallo Cups (which I think are mostly regional because no one in Columbus knew about them when I moved here) and 3 Musketeers.  But I mostly wouldn’t kick any chocolate out of bed for eating chocolate.  Wait…, what?

5. Favorite Halloween Memory?
I have fond memories of trick-or-treating in middle school with my friends, Stacy and Becky.  Also toilet-papering was a big thing in our area so there was always lots of fun getting others people’s houses or trying to defend ours.  I remember when I was in middle school and my sisters knew the football players were planning an attack on our parents house (who have a million trees, but the way) so we pitched a tent behind the row of pine trees and waited for them.  It was pretty chaotic when we busted them, with people running everywhere and electric fences and such (I don’t think anyone actually got hurt).  Other years the football team would be at the volleyball games, sitting in the front row, and then they’d very obviously all get up and walk out at the same time before the game was over so they could get the players’ houses while they knew no one was home.  I also went to OU for Halloween with some friends once and had an absolute blast.  For those who aren’t from Ohio, Ohio University (not Ohio State) is legendary for Halloween.

6. Whats your favorite scary movie?
I always loved the Nightmare on Elm Street movies and would watch those with my sister and our friends when we were probably too young to watch scary movies.  Candyman was also one that was really freaky.  I remember trying to watch a movie called “I Spit on Your Grave” with some friends in high school and it was completely unwatchable.  Lo hates scary movies, so I never really see them anymore

Leave me one or all of your answers in the comments (or a link to your post if you participated!).  I’m heading to pick apples in the cold rain…it’s the last weekend for picking them and you can’t buy Goldrush apples in the store.
