This Week We….
We had a pretty productive week. I did some kitchen organization that I’ll post about soon. Lo fixed the one issue with the furnace on his own. It cost $122 for him to order the part, and 20 minutes to install it, versus $699 for the repair quote. He ordered the $5 part to fix the humidifier part, so if that works, he’ll save $1000 or so more. If it doesn’t work, nothing was lost because it isn’t running now anyway (it leaks). He also sanded and painted a table that needed refinished. It was a hand-me-down from my mom that needed painted when we got it and we used to keep our tabletop grill on top of it on our balcony at our apartment, so is was seriously grungy. I don’t know what we’ll use it for, but it’s nice to have it clean and ready for something. It hangs out in our furniture-less basement for now. I cooked three new recipes that all worked out pretty well – I’ll post about those soon. We’ll have some leftovers to freeze and eat another time. We also went to a car dealership and lucked out with an incredibly sexist saleman – I might as well have been invisible. Hint: we didn’t buy a car.
In other random news…
It’s going to be warm this weekend and the snow should melt, so I painted my nails for spring. A little premature, perhaps. “Do You Lilac It”? No, really, that’s what it’s called.
We think Boof is finally better – without going in to detail of why we think that – because it’s gross and discussion of poop has happened way too much for a house without kids. She’s back to being playful and wagging her tail constantly. She also got a bath, which she doesn’t love. We’ve only given her one, but she knew as soon as she heard the tub and we were trying to call her into the bathroom. Unfortunately for her, we know that her kryptonite is food and we can get her to do literally anything for food. We coaxed her into the bathroom with a small sliver of carrot and she knew she was stuck. She sits in the tub just fine (though she still doesn’t like it), but she goes crazy once she’s out and “free”. She runs around the couch like a maniac and rolls around trying to get dry. It’s so funny.
My favorite work socks have been retired. I knew they were getting to the end of their life in the toe region, but I didn’t realize the heel was so bad until I could feel the shoe through them. I’ve had them for years and they were always the first I’d grab from my drawer when they were clean. The other one was just as bad. I’m sorry to see them go. I know you care.
How was your week?
I was really busy with working in the new room for my daughter. That was hard but also nice to see that it was worth at the end. At this sunny weekend we go out walking all together in nature. Also very good to get new energy for the next week.
One remark for your favorite work socks. Such good socks you should never let go. They are really good enough for the rest life which they still have as weekend socks or bed socks. I could not so easy part with my old favorite socks. Because of that I have 7 socks at the moment which are very threadbare and two have also some holes in them but I like them so it is too hard to part with them. I hope this is not to much sloppy.
Have a nice week!
