Weekly Workout: May 31 – June 6

It was a so-so workout week.  I only did yoga once, but I did my 100 leg workout that killed me last week and it was much easier this week.  Hopefully I can do it every week and it’ll get easy for me again.  It feels so good to be able to work out and get sore again though now that I’m feeling better.

Friday, May 31

  • Noon: Nothing- I was SO sore from my Thursday leg workout that it felt like I’d been stabbed in my left quad.  I knew I had no chance at yoga, and even the treadmill or elliptical sounded like a bad idea.  I think it was actually on the verge of a tear (but definitely wasn’t).  I asked Lo if he wanted to go to the Pearl Alley Farmer’s Market at lunch to get some veggies and then to get some frozen yogurt since I had a groupon to use.  I failed to realize that very few local veggies are ready yet – there was some lettuce, herbs, and not much else, so we didn’t get anything.  We did get fro-yo at Zero Below fro-yo (or whatever it’s called on Gay St.).

Saturday, June 1

  • Nothing: Nothing – it was Lo’s birthday, so we didn’t do much.

Sunday, June 2

  • Nothing:  Nothing – we pretty much watched Nashville all day and ran a few errands before meeting friends for dinner at Pies and Pints.

Monday, June 3

  • Noon – Treadmill/Weights:  My quad was still a little tender, so I just walked hills on the treadmill for 2 miles and then did a quick shoulder workout.

Tuesday, June 4

  • Noon – Noon Yoga at Capitol Club:  Thankfully my quad felt fine by now and I had a good yoga class.

Wednesday, June 5

  • Noon – 100 Workout:  I repeated the 100 workout that killed me last week, so:         100 squats, 90 second wall sit (split in two), 80 calf raises, 70 mountain climbers, 60 lunges, 50 single-leg leg deadlifts (25 each leg), 40 plie squats with kettlebell, 30 side squat walk with heavy band around thighs, each direction (don’t know what to call those), 20 pushups, and 10 burpees.  I still had lots of time, so I did 20 minutes on the elliptical.  My legs weren’t as torn up right after the workout as last week, so I know they won’t be as sore for so long.  Getting stronger after having to scale my workouts way back in my first trimester.

Thursday, June 6

  • Noon – Nothing: I was pretty sore from the leg workout, and it was raining pretty hard and I didn’t feel like going outside in it.  I napped instead.

Hopefully I’ll finish out the week with yoga or a good workout on Friday.
