Happy Thanksgiving!

We are driving to my parent’s house three hours away for Thanksgiving.  We’re excited to introduce Boof to everyone and interested to see how she’ll do with my parents’ dog Coco and my grandma’s dog Pebbles (I totally just blanked on her name and had to ask Lo).

I’m making pumpkin risotto, chipotle cranberry sauce, prosciutto-wrapped apples slices with cheese, and maybe a pumpkin cream cheese GF pie.  We’ll see how much I get done once we get there. Last year our nieces ended up making a large portion of the Thanksgiving meal – Summer and I just directed them on what to do in the kitchen and they cooked like it was their job!  It was awesome!

Saturday is the Ohio State v. Michigan football game in Columbus – which tends to be the biggest game of the year because of the rivalry.  We haven’t decided if we’ll tailgate or do anything for that yet because we’re just playing it by ear for when we’ll return to Columbus.  I think my sister Jackie and her bf are coming down for the game and staying with us, so that’ll be fun.

One thing my weekend won’t consist of?  Shopping.  I think Black Friday shopping is ridiculous and a waste of time.  My sister Summer and I tried to go shopping on Black Friday about 7 years ago when I was in town and we ended up being at bw3’s for 12 hours instead and having to get a ride home.  We didn’t even make it into one store.  I learned my lesson.

I hope you have a great Thanksgiving and the weekend consists of lots of family, friends, fun, and giving thanks!  The colors won’t be this pretty, but I’m looking forward to taking Boof and Coco on a walk around this field!
