I Quit a Book

I’m not sure if I’ve ever quit reading a book, no matter how bad it was – except maybe some books back in school that I didn’t choose to read and had no real intention of finishes (Fahrenheit 151 comes to mind).  Well, I tried to read Life by Keith Richards, which is his autobiography, and I could not get past page 120…and its 576 pages long.  It took me almost a month to get as far as I did and it was painful.  Typically I can read 50 pages in one night pretty quickly, but I was lucky if I could read 5 pages at a time of this book.

He goes so deep into his entire music background, explaining everything in such depth that it was just boring.  If I was a musician, I would probably enjoy it.  If I was a huge Keith Richards or Stones fan, it would probably be ok.  But since I’m just an average fan, it was a no-go for me.

Have you ever quit a book or do you have to finish no matter what?  Anyone have any book recommendations?  I’m going to need some good beach reads soon.  I’ve already read 50 Shades…
