Loving the Avett Brothers

I’ve kind of liked the Avett Brothers for several years (I have friends who LOVE them).  However, when I went to Europe a few years ago, I fell a little more in love with them from the I and Love and You album.  My friend and I stayed up the first several hours of the overnight flight watching movies on the awesome seat back monitors on our flight, but when I finally decided that I needed to sleep, I fell asleep to that album on repeat.  I woke up just around dawn and looked down just as we were flying over Ireland while Head Full of Doubt/Road Full of Promise was playing and it felt like an amazing moment.  Ireland was our third and final stop on the trip after London and Paris, and I couldn’t have been more excited to get there.  It was as amazing as I expected and felt like home.  So that album has a special place in my heart (second and third song below).

Apparently I missed out on a previously released song that I heard on Pandora the other day and I was pretty blown away by the song.  The title, Murder in the City, doesn’t leave one with expectation of an amazing song – but that it is.  Check them out – let me know what you think!
