Sunday Social: Beauty
I’m linking up for Sunday Social with Ashley and Neely. This week’s questions are about beauty. It’s funny because I’m kind of a product junky, but I’m too lazy to wear much makeup regularly, nor do I style my hair. The makeup thing mostly stems from working out mid-day and not wanting to reapply or whatever (and that I prefer to sleep that extra 5 minutes). My last hair cut was in September and it was just a dry trim because I was really pregnant and didn’t want to bother with getting it washed and such. I meant to go back in December – but then my salon had a special that if you booked for Jan or Feb, you got 1/2 off. But….my stylist is off until February, so I had to wait to book until then. I was going to get a trim in between at another salon with a gift card I have, but then I just didn’t….so my hair is gross long right now and needs inches cut off.
1. How old were you when you started wearing makeup?
Ehh…I don’t remember. I think I had some makeup in high school, but I rarely wore it. I know when I went to prom the first time, my sister’s friend came over to do my makeup because I didn’t know how or have much. I was into sports too much to bother with makeup and it sweating all over the place – although girls these days wear a face-full even when they are playing sports. Even now I only wear eye makeup when I go somewhere at night (if even then). I hate taking it off at night. Funny because I have a shitload of makeup and when I do wear eye makeup, it’s usually a bright, colored eyeliner, which seems odd for someone who usually doesn’t look like I’m wearing any.
2. What are your top 3 favorite beauty products?
Bare Minerals powder foundation
khaki green Bare Minerals eyeliner (with a hint of sparkle)
Dry shampoo (Oscar Blandi has some great aerosol varieties).
3. What is one makeup product you don’t leave home without?
Chapstick of some sort. It’s really the only thing I “need”. I could care less if it’s tinted or plain.
4. What is your daily beauty routine?
SUPER basic. Wash face/hair in shower, apply face lotion (currently have aveeno and Mary Kay), comb out hair, Bare Minerals powder foundation, Bare Minerals blush, concealer where I need it, and if I’m feeling fancy/not lazy, I’ll add a little eyebrow pencil. Sometimes I’ll use Aveda foam stuff or volume spray, but my hair is too stupid long now, so none of that would even make a difference. Then out the door with wet hair.
5. What is your favorite hair/makeup product you’ve discovered in the last year? I have several…..
Hair: Oscar Blando Pronto Texture and Volume Spray
Skin: Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish™ Hot Cloth Cleanser
Face: Dr. Jart+’s BB Beauty Balm
Color: Urban Decay Naked 2
