Sunday Social: Thankful

Sunday Social: Thankful

It’s Sunday Social day where Ashley and Neely post questions each week for people to answer on their blogs and a linkup.  This week there aren’t any questions…we are just supposed to list what we are thankful for.  I could go on and on….I have a lot to be thankful for.

Family:  My family, Lo’s family, and especially our family…Lo, Jenson, and Boof.  I can go on and on and never be able to list all of the reasons I’m thankful for all of my families, so I’m just going to leave it at that.

Friends:  I have some pretty great friends.  I have old friends (pre-Columbus), friends from volleyball in Columbus, friends that I met through Lo, friends from work, and friends I’ve met through other friends that fell into one of the above categories.  I’m especially thankful that two of our friends/dog friends will be returning from Florida soon, after being gone for 5 or so weeks (though they’ll leave us again in January, but I can’t blame them for that – Ohio winters blow….

(I was 7 or 8 months pregnant here, but I just look like I have big belly roll, lol)

Work:  As much as I would love to not need to work, since that’s not the case, I’m very thankful for the job that I have.  I’m incredibly thankful for the amazing benefits…good health insurance, lots of leave time, good maternity/paternity leave that allowed Lo to stay home for 6 weeks, and me up to 12 (I’m taking something like 10.5), good co-workers (for the most part), and an office with a door that allowed me to nap when I was pregnant and will allow me to pump in comfort when I return.

Health:  A large part of one’s health is by choice and action… So I’m thankful that I have the will and determination to be mostly healthy.  Yes, I weigh more than I should, but I’m physically fit and don’t get sick often (obviously that will change with kids since they pick up every germ in the world).  I’m SO thankful that I had a healthy pregnancy.  Other than some placenta previa that resolved itself and some first trimester sickness, I had a very fortunate pregnancy/delivery.  I had my postpartum appt today and everything is fine and I’m happy that I’m only 10 lbs more than my pre-pregnancy weight now!  I’ve been able to fit into some of my jeans for a couple of weeks, but I wasn’t sure how much I’d lost.  I gained a little over 30 lbs when pregnant, but I worked out regularly up until the end, and I think that helped it come off easier.  Plus breastfeeding…  That must be the reason because I have NOT been eating well since he was born – too much sugar!  I’m back to hot yoga once a week and will go back to the gym some when I return to work (it’s across the street from work, so it’s not close enough to home to go in the evenings after Lo gets home).

It’s pretty safe to say that I have a great life and so so many other things to be thankful for.
