Sunday Social: Weaknesses

It’s Sunday Social day where Ashley and Neely post questions each week for people to answer on their blogs and a linkup.

What is your shopping weakness?
I wouldn’t say I have a clothing weakness, but I do buy a lot of cardigans because I’m always cold at work.  If I stopped working there though, I’d hardly every buy them anymore.  I guess my main weakness would fall in food items.  If something has the word “chipotle” in it, I’m buying it.  I love that smoky pepper flavor.  I’m also a sucker for new food items, especially at Trader Joe’s.  Oh – and special cheeses.  We have a cheese problem in this house – it’s definitely something I inherited from my family.  Cheese is what holds my family together.  Actually, I think cheese is literally the only thing keeping my parents’ dog, Coco, alive.

What is your food weakness?
Fresh blueberries.  I actually asked Lo and he said, “I don’t know…probably cheese (lol, see above) or something sweet”.  I said “I can’t decide between cheese, chocolate, or blueberries”.  And he said “Oh, blueberries.  Definitely.”  I’m pretty much obsessed with fresh blueberries and get so excited when they come in season.  I grew up with blueberry bushes in our yard and an unlimited supply of frozen blueberries at my mom’s house from those.  I’ll eat a pint of fresh blueberries in one sitting, and when they are on sale, it’s not unusual for me to buy 10 pints at a time.  I get panicky when it’s early winter and I’m not sure if I’ll have enough frozen blueberries to get me through the winter.  When we bought our house, the most important thing for me to do that fall was plant blueberry bushes.  It’ll take a few years before they start producing, so I needed to get them in as soon as possible.  I was a little upset when I noticed this spring that the biggest one had been chewed down a couple of inches by something over the winter (I know it was the deer we saw in our backyard on day).  Before we bought our house, I used to beg my friends to plant blueberry bushes on their properties so I could come over and pick them, but none of them bit. So we had to buy a house (just kidding…that’s not the reason, mostly).  I put three in our backyard and think I’ll plant a few more in our side yard this year – just to make sure I have enough eventually.  Lo’s weakness is cheese for sure.

What is your go to movie to watch when nothing is on?
I don’t put a specific movie on if I have nothing to watch, but if Teen Wolf (MJ Fox original), I have to watch it.  I’m also happy to watch something like Pretty Woman, Napoleon Dynamite, Dumb and Dumber, Up Close & Personal, A Time to Kill, Black Hawk Down….I could go on, but that’s a good enough sample.

What is your go to breakfast food?
Either plain Greek yogurt with fruit (preferably blueberries), or oats soaked in milk overnight with berries (eaten cold or just barely warmed).  On the weekend, eggs or omelet that Lo makes for me.

Do you drink coffee? If so how do you take it?
Sometimes.  I haven’t been much lately, but usually I take it black.
