Weekly Workout: Jan. 26 – Feb. 1

This was quite a weather week, not that has anything to do with my daily workout.  On Tuesday evening when I walked Boof, it was 65 degrees and I didn’t have to wear a coat.  On Wednesday evening, it was cold and rainy, so Lo took Boof for her walk (he’s cool like that).  On Thursday evening when I took her, it was freezing and snowy and icy.  What happened to Tuesday!  Oh, Ohio.  As long as it doesn’t get back to this (from last week), I’ll be happy enough.  Gotta love the match.com ad at the top of the weather channel app.  I wonder if match.com gets more traffic when people are freezing and want to cuddle with someone?  As a note: I just checked the app and there’s still a match.com ad, but it is currently 21 degrees, feels like 9 degrees, so it’s still cuddle cold.

Saturday and Sunday, January 26 – 27

  • Nothing:  I don’t usually do much on the weekend….this weekend wasn’t any different.

Monday, January 28

  • Noon – Workout found on Life, Love, and Marathons:  Repeat 3 times, no rest:  10 burpees, 20 squats, 30 mountain climbers, 10 pushups, 20 squat jumps, and 30 crunches.  20 minutes elliptical.

Tuesday, January 29

  • Noon – Yoga at Capital Club:  I enjoy this new-ish instructor.  She has a very soothing voice and the class is perfect for lunchtime.  Not hard like Thursday, but enough for a mid-day challenge.
  • 8:10 p.m. – Volleyball PlayoffsWe got rear-ended on the way to volleyball in our new car, so I’m just glad we made it.  We won the semifinals in 3 games and we lost the finals in 3 games.  We played our butts off and it was actually a great workout (this league isn’t always so).

Wednesday, January 30

  • Noon – Nothing:  I almost didn’t work out.  I was tired and I didn’t feel spectacular for some reason.  But when it came to workout time, I couldn’t justify NOT working out – even if that just meant doing the elliptical for 45 minutes.  Otherwise I was just going to surf the interwebs or take a nap on my office floor, but was that going to really make me feel better?  So if you ever aren’t motivated to work out, ask yourself if you can really justify skipping it.  If you can, skip away!

Thursday, January 31

  • Noon – 45 minutes spinning:  I haven’t been to spinning in months, but not that my knee cartilage isn’t bruised anymore, I wanted to get back to it.  As it turns out, I think the instructor only buys 1 new song a month, and it seems that she added Madness by Muse (shocker).  So I still had to suffer through Thriller, Crazy Train, and Bad Romance.  But it was a good workout, and I do enjoy the class.
  • 5:30 – Capital Club Yoga:  This was the hardest class since we’ve been back.  She kept claiming we were doing vinyasas in the name of keeping warm for stretching deeper and I wanted to yell “we are sweating!  we’re warms!”.  But she knows best and I’m always grateful at the end of class that she pushes us so much.  I got into a solid crow for a few seconds at a time!

Friday, February 1

  • Noon – Probably nothingI’m scheduling this post before my workout time, but we have to leave early to get an estimate on our bumper repair/replacement, so I probably won’t do anything during my short lunch.
