A beautiful Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was an absolutely beautiful day.  It was about 65 degrees outside and sunny, so we took full advantage and played outside for over an hour before lunch.

Maternity shadow picture…not very flattering with my baggy sweats, but that’s life.

It was warm enough that Jenson didn’t need a hat, but he doesn’t really go outside without a hat and he wanted to wear his Boof hat instead of his summer hat.

We ran around the yard (you should have seen how quick and nimble I was at 39 weeks pregnant), and threw the soccer ball back and forth.

And then did a little exploring in the side yard.

After lunch, the boys and Boof took a family nap.

I made some banana bread in jars – now my favorite way to make it.  Jenson and I made some ornaments earlier in the day with cornstarch and baking powder.  They developed small cracks as they dried, but hopefully they’ll hold up in the long run.

That night, we headed to our friend’s house for Christmas Eve.  We’ve celebrated Christmas Eve with them for several years in a row, so it was great to get to do that again this year, especially since they’ve been in Florida since early fall and we’ve missed them!  Jenson loved watching their fish and playing ball with the dogs.  He had so much fun.  They spoiled him with lots of gifts too…books, puzzles, slippers, an inflatable bed, and a few other fun things.

Luckily we put him in jammies before we left their house.  He was pretty zonked when we got home, so we didn’t even get a chance to read “Twas the Night Before Christmas”…I carried him in, sung him one song, and he was out cold after saying “go back soon?  I had fun. I like doggies and Kelley and Chuck”.  So sweet.
