Fitness Friday: Dec. 1 – 6

I’ve posted so little this week because I’ve been SO busy!  I’ve been busy at work and busy in the evenings.  I didn’t even realize it was Friday until halfway through the day today.  I mean I think I knew it at some point, because I knew when it was Thursday, but I forgot until about 11:30 a.m. today.  I was just happy to get some decent meals made and some workouts in.

Saturday, December 1

  • Nothing:  We had a big day of taking Boof to the vet for a checkup, picking out and Lo cutting down our Christmas tree, and then decorating it.

Sunday, December 2

  • Yep, nothing again:  Our niece was baptized on Sunday, so we went out of town for that.  Boof had a big day of exercise since she spent the day with Mason and Nash.  She was so exhausted that she wouldn’t walk up to bed that night.  I carried her up and laid her down and she went back to sleep.

Monday, December 3

  • Noon – PT Exercises and 20 minutes elliptical

Tuesday, December 4

  • Noon – Capital Club Yoga:  I haven’t been to this noon class for a long time and was disappointed to find out that Mary will be leaving the club  The instructor who is taking over was there, so at least the classes will continue.  I really liked taking class from Mary though.
  • 8:15 p.m. – Co-ed Volleyball:  We started a new league with our neighbors – it was a lot of fun and I think the team is going to do pretty well.  I asked the manager at Yogi’s if he wanted to sponsor this team too and he agreed.  It’s a great sponsor because he gives up money towards our registration fee and it’s so close to home for when we go out after the games.  Plus they have wraps on special on Tuesday and they put them in a bowl for me since I can’t eat the tortilla.

Wednesday, December 5

  • Noon – PT exercises and elliptical
  • 6 p.m. – 80 minute Level 2 Yoga at PAI:  Laurel is an excellent instructor and it was a pretty hard class.  My knee didn’t bother me too much, so I was pleased with that.

Thursday, December 6

  • 2:30 p.m. – Physical Therapy: They added some new exercises and stronger bands for me.  I’m disappointed that this isn’t healing faster, but grateful that it isn’t an injury that is too limiting.  I can still do almost everything I want to do with my knee, it’s just uncomfortable most of the time.  She showed me how to tape it to hold my kneecap in place and to train the muscles to hold it there, so I ordered the tape today and will see if that helps.  I thought about going to a yoga class again that night (and then the winery), but my friend emailed me that morning and asked me to go to the Cirque du Soleil show, Quidam.  She and her husband “won” the tickets at the silent auction for our Hurricane Sandy fundraiser last week and he couldn’t go that night.  It was a fantastic show and I wasn’t sure if I’d be very impressed since we just saw Le Reve in Vegas – but I was still impressed.  The performers did some amazing stunts and I’m always in awe of what they are capable of doing with their bodies.

Friday, December 7
