Sunday Social – favorites

It’s Sunday Social day where Ashley and Neely post questions each week for people to answer on their blogs and a linkup.

1.  What is currently on your wish list?

  • This Lenny and Eva bracelet with the wide cuff in Bark is perfect for me.
  • I also love this Just Be bracelet from the same site (Just Be is a personal mantra of mine)
  • I loved this onyx ring for awhile, but this one is much more affordable (but it might look like crap)
  • I’ve always ignored what that Thirty-One stuff is, but I was telling my sister that I want a big girl purse, and by that, I don’t mean expensive…I mean one the holds more than my wallet (which is actually a cigarette case), my phone (which is actually looks like a cassette tape), and a couple of lip products (one of which is a chapstick that I get from my dentist and I’m very upset that I didn’t get one at my appointment on Friday).  Oh, the purse – I’m picky about the shape of a purse and how it fit on my arm.  The majority of my purses are cross-body, which is not a big girl style – it’s a “I’m afraid I’ll get drunk and leave my purse at the bar” style or “I want to hold a plate of food and a drink at a party” style.  I spotted a purse on my mom’s table and ran over and was like – “Is this yours?! It’s perfect!”.  It was actually one of my other sister’s and she told me it was a thiry-one skirt purse and you can buy different skirts to put on the purse (the skirts are cheaper on etsy [side note: I bizarrely could not remember the name of etsy, so I googled “craft site”.  It worked]).  So anyway…I think I want a black thirty one skirt purse.
  • Oh…and a new sectional, actually two, because we need one for the basement because the couch we planned for the basement doesn’t make the turn at the bottom of the stairs and neither will the other two that we have.
  • I would have said I dog…but I think that’s taken care of! 🙂
  • That’s a lot of stuff…I’m kind of greedy.

2.  Share a new iphone, droid, ipad app you have recently discovered that we all need

  • I’m not big on new apps, partly because I haven’t had Lo upgrade my phone to IOS5 or whatever, so apps won’t really download (or update) at this point.  I guess the one that people may not already know about is Seconds Free; it’s a workout timer where you can program HIT, circuit, or round timers.  I don’t use it a ton, but it’s perfect for interval workouts.
3.  What is a new Fall TV show you have added to your DVR?
  • We are currently watching the season of Don’t Trust the B in Apartment something or other.  It’s pretty funny, but it’s not one of those shows that I’d miss if it went off air.  I don’t think we’re watching anything else that we didn’t watch last year, but we are weeks behind on every show except Dexter I think.
4.  Share your Social Media links for us to follow you on (pinterest, twitter, facebook, etc) Tell us which is your favorite and why.
  • Pinterest:  https://pinterest.com/valjoy/
  • Twitter:  @thatswhatwedid and @cbuscheap (my local deal blog)
  • Facebook: my personal page and the columbus on the cheap page

I think I also have a google+, but don’t use it.  And an instagram that I haven’t used in months, and maybe still foursquare, but again…I don’t use it anymore.  My favorite are pinterest and facebook. Pinterest is for inspiration and facebook for friends.

5.  What is a TV series or Movie or Song you could listen to or watch over and over and over and never get tired of…feel free to name one of each.
  • TV series – There aren’t a ton that I’d watch over and over…but I did really like Sex and the City.  I always thought living in NY would be so awesome, though I have no desire to actually do that.
  • Movie – there are a lot that I could watch over and over, but I’ll go with Teen Wolf (like Michael J. Fox Teen Wolf).  I can pretty much say every line to the movie and regularly slip them into conversation.  Sadly, Lo does not play along and say the next line or response from the movie. I just can’t figure out why…
  • Song – Avett Brothers Head Full of Doubt/Road Full of Promises is one of those songs that I don’t hear as much as I feel.  I know that sounds weird, but I fell asleep listening to a few albums on repeat on a plane on the way to London and when I woke up, I looked out the window, we were flying over Ireland.  I looked down at the country and was so excited for when we were actually in Ireland later in the trip – I knew it was going to feel like home. As a matter of fact, I didn’t even feel a strong need to go to London and Paris, but they were part of the already planned trip that me and a friend joined my sister and her friend on (in hindsight, I am glad that we went to those too, especially London…I’d go back there).  Later that trip when we were actually in Ireland and we took the DART to Howth ,which is just a small fishing village, I felt like that was exactly where I belonged – like it was home.  It was a really weird feeling, and when I think about or look at pictures, I still get that same feeling.  So when I hear that song it fills me with that hope and a sense of home, no matter where I am.  But if we’re talking full albums, it would be any Damien Rice or Mumford and Sons album (actually, there’s that Irish and London connection of that trip, too!).

Howth, Ireland
