Weekly Workout: August 30 – September 5

As happy as I was last week about being able to still get in decent workouts, I think that time is tapering off.  I don’t take into account how much I’ve been doing in the evenings after work and I need to consider that so I don’t overdo it over the period of the whole day.  There’s been a couple of nights this week when I did a little too much and was definitely hurting by bedtime and having lots more Braxton Hicks contractions throughout the evening.  So I took it easy with my workouts this week and it was also a holiday week, so it was very light on the workout front.  I’m okay with that because by the time I sit down at 9 or 10 pm (or 11 pm last night), I’m beat and my body is done.  But I’m finished with what I need to do with the glider (finally!!!) and I’ve taped off most of the trees in the nursery to paint, so I should be able to start taking it easy in the evenings without feeling like I have a million things to do.  I’ll never get back those 15-20 hours I spend sitting on the garage floor refinishing that glider over the last two weeks though!

I think the trees are going to turn out nicely!  The one is blue only because I switched to Frog’s tape after it.

Friday, August 30

  • Noon – Walk outsideI went for a walk around downtown for a bit and to the farmer’s market.

Saturday, August 31

  • Nothing:  Just a couple of hours of glider work

Sunday, September 1

  • Nothing:  Glider work and some shopping.  I finally found maternity jeans that fit (though they had to be ordered)!

Monday, September 2

  • Nothing for Labor Day:  I did some glider work and went to the Container Store to get canvas bins for the nursery closet.  The cashier handed me the receipts and I stuck it in the stack of bins to carry to the car.  One receipt was the purchases I made, one was the ones they ordered for me (they were out of one size of bins), and the other was a stupid survey receipt.  Just as I was nearing my car, the wind kicked up and the receipts blew out of the bins!  I didn’t know what to do – I wanted to run to get them, but I didn’t think I should run while 8.5 months pregnant while carrying a stack of bins.  Plus, if I couldn’t catch it, how ridiculous would that look? (that honestly went through my head)  But I needed them because I wasn’t sure they were going to be the bins we wanted.  Two of the receipts went straight through the parking lot, and one went underneath a car and I couldn’t track it after that, so I went after the stack of two.  Those two blew across the parking lot, across the street, where they finally came to rest against a building, so I was finally able to catch up to them.  They were for the purchases that day, and the stupid survey receipt.  I went back in the store so they could reprint me a receipt for the order that was placed, and she assured me I didn’t really need it (and it could always be called up by my credit card).  But still!

Tuesday, September 3

  • Noon – Noon Yoga at Capitol Club:  We had a sub this week, so some things were harder, some were easier.  I kept up just fine and even did some vinyasas without going on my knees.

Wednesday, September 4

  • Noon – 100 Workout and Elliptical:  I did my 100 leg workout: 100 squats (leaning back using trx bands to give me extra support and belly room), 90 second wall sit (split in two), 80 calf raises, 70 second plank, 60 lunges, 50 single-leg leg deadlifts (25 each leg), 40 plie squats (no kettlebell this week – I was struggling), 30 side squat walk with heavy band around thighs, each direction (don’t know what to call those), 20 single leg squats with leg on chair, 10 pushups using TRX bands.  After, I did 15 minutes on the elliptical.  Sadly, I think that may have been my last 100 workout for now.  I was determined to finish the workout, but I went a little harder than I needed and was pretty worn out.  If I feel good next week, I’ll still do a leg workout, but I’ll modify it and maybe make it a 75 workout, or a 50 workout.

Thursday, September 5

  • Noon – Nothing:  After doing the 100 workout, putting the final coat of paint on the glider, and taping two trees on the nursery wall the night before, I was beat.  I knew I was better off just resting during lunch.

We have another long weekend coming up because we have a few appointments on Friday, so hopefully I’ll have more resting time over the weekend.  Like Boof…she gets lots of rest.
